Why Our Tournaments Feel Different (And Why That Matters)
Let’s be honest—when some people hear “tournament,” they picture pressure, rules, and people taking it all a bit too seriously.
That’s not what we’re building here.
At Liverpool Disc Golf, our tournaments are about bringing people in, not filtering people out.
You don’t need to be “good enough”
This is the biggest myth in sport.
We’ve had:
First-timers playing their very first round in a tournament
Players who still call it a frisbee (we don’t judge… much)
And experienced players all on the same day
And it works—because the focus isn’t just competition, it’s experience.
It’s organised… but not rigid
Yes, we’ll have:
Cards and tee times
Scores being tracked
A bit of structure so the day runs smoothly
But we’ll also have:
Music
Laughing on the fairways
People helping each other mid-round
You won’t get shouted at for doing something wrong. Someone will just show you how to do it right.
It’s a day out, not just a round
We design our events like something you’d actually choose to do on your day off:
Play a round
Hang out between holes
Stick around after
Maybe a few drinks, maybe some food, definitely some stories
Why we do it this way
Because we’re not trying to build an elite-only scene.
We’re trying to build something where:
New people feel comfortable straight away
Regulars feel part of something
And everyone leaves wanting to come back
👉 Got one coming up soon here at Bowring Park. If you’ve been thinking about it—this is your sign. You’ll be more than welcome.
