Types of Players You’ll Meet at Bowring Park

Every session, every round, every time—it’s the same characters. If you’ve played with us before, you’ll recognise a few of these straight away.

1. The “I’ll just come for a casual round” player

Turns up saying they’re just here for a laugh.

Keeps score.
Remembers everyone else’s score.
Quietly furious when they hit a tree.

2. The Absolute Beginner

First ever throw goes:

  • Straight up

  • Straight left

  • Or somehow behind them

By hole 6?
Buzzing. Fully hooked.

3. The Disc Collector

Has a bag full of discs.

Knows every name, every flight number, every plastic type.

Still hits the same tree as everyone else.

4. The “One Good Shot” Legend

Round is chaos… until that one throw.

Parks it perfectly.
Everyone goes mad.
They’ll talk about it for the next three weeks (fair enough).

5. The Silent Assassin

Doesn’t say much.

No fuss. No drama.
Just quietly plays a brilliant round.

You only realise at the end they’ve won.

6. The Social Golfer

Here for:

  • The walk

  • The people

  • The vibes

Score? Optional.
Post-round plans? Essential.

7. The Tree Magnet

You know who you are.

Doesn’t matter where they aim—the disc is finding a tree.

Still smiling though. That’s what counts.

The truth?

Most of us are a mix of all of these.

That’s what makes it good. No pressure to be the best, no expectation to be anything other than yourself.

👉 Sound like your kind of people? Come down and join us. Wednesdays. Bowring Park. 6pm-8pm. There’s always room on the card. We’ll see you on the tee.
